AI and crypto move fast and just after a month Covalent is pleased to unveil the AI Agent SDK v0.2.0, a completely rebuilt framework that brings a giant leap forward in functionality. At the heart of this release is the concept of a Zero-Employee Enterprise (ZEE)—a new paradigm where traditional workforces are augmented by a decentralized system of autonomous agents. These agents collaborate and iteratively solve complex tasks with precision and adaptability for the onchain world. Through autonomy, these agents operate as a swarm of Chain-of-Thought (CoT) reasoning agents and function as a self-sustaining system, adapting dynamically to business needs. This leap forces one to rethink how businesses scale, innovate, and manage operations.

The Big Unlock of v0.2.0

With the initial release of the Agent SDK a few weeks back, we took a generalist approach to building AI agents. The last few weeks, as an industry, we’ve witnessed a whirlwind of developments in the AI x Crypto world, and broadly in the AI world. As such, we came to the conclusion that the SDK had to be re-built from the ground up for a crypto-centric world that each agent can tap into.

Specialized AI for Crypto

SDK v0.2.0 goes beyond generalized agents by creating tools that speak the language of crypto. Whether it’s managing DeFi protocols, working with DAOs, or building financial applications,
SDK v0.2.0 is purpose-built to simplify and accelerate development. This specialization ensures developers can directly address the complex needs of decentralized systems, delivering precision and speed that was previously unattainable.

Autonomous Agents with Advanced Capabilities

Given recent news it's clear that CoT reasoning agents are far more efficient and achieve better results, as such Covalent doubled down to ensure these specialized Agents can independently reason and execute tasks even better than before. From optimizing liquidity positions in DeFi to providing an upgrade path for the SDK to later allow for agents to manage private keys, these agents function autonomously to handle multi-step processes that were once manual and time-intensive.

Covalent is committed to providing new and experienced developers an SDK that simplifies the build process to keep up with the pace of AI and Crypto and the AI Agent SDK v0.0.2 allows developers to compose workflows and transactions in plain English. This feature means finance teams and non-technical stakeholders can easily build processes without relying on extensive coding expertise.

Getting started

The SDK is publicly available on GitHub at https://github.com/covalenthq/ai-agent-sdk/ and on npm as “@covalenthq/ai-agent-sdk/”

Key Use Cases and Real-World Impact

SDK v0.2.0 opens up a wide range of applications for ZEEs and autonomous agents across industries. Here are some examples of how these tools can be applied:

  • DeFi Position Management: Agents can autonomously manage liquidity positions, rebalance portfolios, and optimize yield farming strategies with minimal human intervention. This is the emerging area of DeFAI.

  • DAO Governance Automation: SDK v0.2.0 enables agents to execute governance proposals, manage treasury operations, and coordinate member incentives efficiently.

  • Cross-Chain Operations: With built-in support for interoperability, agents can seamlessly bridge assets between chains, perform swaps, and stake tokens into contracts.

  • Enterprise Workflows: ZEEs can transform business operations by automating complex workflows, opening up a feature upgrade path that could create dynamic UIs, and execute multi-step transactions based on simple human inputs.

Why ZEEs Matter: Redefining the Enterprise

The ZEE model represents a fundamental shift in how businesses operate. By moving routine execution to swarms of collaborative agents, human roles can focus on strategic direction. ZEEs operate continuously, scale dynamically, and eliminate traditional inefficiencies, unlocking boundless opportunities for innovation.

To explore the capabilities of the AI Agent SDK v0.2.0 and learn more about ZEEs, check out the Covalent documentation https://github.com/covalenthq/ai-agent-sdk/. Whether you’re building for DeFi, DAOs, or beyond, the AI Agent SDK v0.2.0 provides the tools to bring your vision to life.

We’re excited to see how you will use this new SDK version.
